Pretty Wedding at Palmerston North

OF LOCAL INTEREST SCOTT—EDDY BRIDE WEARS CHARMING FROCK A wedding of local interest took place at St. Andrew’s Church, Palmerston Worth, on February 3, the Rev. John Hubbard, formerly of Drury, officiating, when Mary Ellen (Molly) elder daughter of Mr and Mrs S. P. Eddy, Colombo Road, Waiuku, was married to Mr A. Scott, of Hastings. A gown of magnolia bridal satin was chosen by Ihe bride who was given away by her father. Fashioned with a heart-shaped neckline and pear! ornaments, Hie bodice was light-fitting and finished with a row of satin loops and billions from neck lo waist-line, Ihe long leg of mutton sleeves being finished at Ihe wrist wilh a point and a row of buttons to the elbow. The skirt, which was tight fitting, was sunray pleated into Hie waist at the back falling into a long oval train which was finished at Ihe edge with sprays of orange blossom. Over this was worn a long tulle Veil which formed a second train falling from at; orange blossom halo. The bride carried a sheaf bouquet, of cream tulips and gladioli. Airs Y. Chamberlain acted as -matron oi honour, wearing a gown of prunella shaded embossed moire satin cut on slim fitting lines with ' a heartshaped neck line. The waist line was defined by a saxc blue velvet, sash wide!) fell in long ends lo the hem of her gown. Iter Dolly Yarden hat was in shades of prunella and blue and her bouquet was in matching shades. Mr if. Walker acted as best mail. Following IIm 1 service a largely attended reception was held. To receive Ihe guests Mrs Eddy wore a frock of maroon sheer and a navy coal in embossed sal in and a navy hat. She carried a Yiclorian posy in autumn shades. Mrs Scott wore a navy tailored suit and a small black hat. tier posy was of scarlet gladioli. The bride later travelled in a new blue, bolero suit and a navy and while brolon straw 7 hat.
