“BRING AND BUY.”
A SUCCESSFUL EFFORT. SCHOOL FUNDS AUGMENTED. A successful “bring and buy" afternoon was held at the Tn;il<au sehon! last week in aid of school funds. The function was organised by the sc-honl committee under Hie leadership of Mr W. Pyalt. The calm stall was in rliarg<- nf Mesdtimes Rose and Robb: the sweet stall in charge of Mesdames Fordyce and Wiseman and the teachers, and flic produce slab was in charge of Mesdames Pi and W. Lapwood and \\. Pyatt. A ladder croquet competition was won by Mrs Moorman. The gathering was entertained to movie pictures shown by the boys. As a. result of Hie effort £!‘f was netted.
CROQUET CLUB’S AFTERNOON. TJii' Taakan Croquet Club’s -’bring Gl ;d buy” afternoon in si Wednesday was popular and successful. There was a large crowd and £9 as was realised. Competitions were won by the following: Ladder croquet. Miss B. Donaldson; men. Mr G. Robb: golf croquet. Mrs 11. C. Foster: men. Mr 11. Pirrct; spot croquet. Mrs B. F. Brown: clock goli. Airs .1. Pirret. men. Mr H. Pirret. The jumble stall did well and was in charge of Mesdames Woodbridge and McNaught. Mr E. W. Fielder was the winner of a cushion and table set. aucl Mr F. Bagnal! won a pair of bantams. The afternoon tea was in charge oi Mr B. F. Brown and Mesdames IT. G. Foster and G. Robb.
