MANUKAU WOMEN’S CLUB. In the final of the two-life competition of the Manukau Women’s Golf Club, Mrs W. A. Pavitt beat Miss McDonald, C and 5.

The following Manukau women players have been chosen to play Papakura on Manukau links next Thursday. Play is.to commence at 12.30 p.m.: Mrs Barnard. There was a large attendance at the official closing ceremony of the Papakura Golf Club on Saturday. In declaring the links closed for the lOrh season, the patron. Mr E. D. McLennan. said he felt like “a ‘hardy annual" in performing the ceremony for so many years. He was gratified to see the course in such excellent condition. He hoped to keep an increasing number of lawn mowers (sheep) on the links during the summer which would perhaps produce a better course than ever next season. (Applause). After congratulating Mr Alexander on the. splendid way he had kept the links. Mr McLennan presented the prizes won during the season as follows: Women’s club championship. senior.
