Loan Company’s Sale at Pukekohe.
EXTRA HEAVY YARDING. LATE VALUES FOR DAIRIES. LARGE ENTRY OF PIGS.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report that there was an extra heavy yarding of cattle at its Pukekohe sale on Thursday. Late values were well maintained in the dairy section and also ruled for good quality beef. Plain beef was slightly easier, while store cows and boners realised late rates. Fat pigs were yarded in increased numbers and sold at ruling prices, as also did stores. Quotations are:— Dairy: Best heifers, £8 10s to £9 15s: medium. £7 to £8 ss: smaller and backward. £5 to £0 15s: cows, £6 to £lO :10s.
Beef and stores: Heavy prime steers, £l2 lOs to £l3 I Os: heavy prime cows. £8 to £8 17s Od: medium, £0 10s to £7 15s: light, £5 to £0 ss: killabie cows, £3 to £4 10s: store cows. Shorthorn, £4 to £5 ss: Jersey, £2 10s to .£3 15s: boner cows. £1 10s to, £2 os: yearling heifers, £3 10s to £4 Us, others, £2 5s to £3 3s: service bulls, sgns. to JOgns.; potter hulls. £2 15s to £5 ss.
Pigs: Choppers, up to £2 :10s: heavy and medium baconers, from £3 Os to £3 17s: light baconers and heavy porkers, £2 12s to £3 8s: medium and light porkers. £1 16s to £2 11s: small and unfinished porkers, £1 _6s to £1 las, good large stores. £1 12s to £1 19s 6d; slips, £1 to £1 11s; weaners, 12s to £1 6s: sows due to farrow made up to £4 J7s Gd; pedigree boars up to 32 gns.
