Sydney Telephones.
“I should think the Sydney telephone system is the worst in the world,” stated Mrs K. Firth, of Te Kuiti, who returned recently from several months’ visit to Australia. “In addition to a high ground rent subscribers have to pay lid for each call, but they are often charged for many calls they do not make. Against this there is no apcpal. Much time is also wasted in getting a call through. I cannot understand why people have tolerated such a system so long.”
