EGAN—HOWARD.

WEDDING AT MATAMATA. A pretty night wedding took place on Easter Monday, at Matamata St. James' Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Mr Hampton-conducted the ceremony and Mrs Hampton played the wedding music. The church had been nicely decorated by friends of the bride.

The contracting parties were Miss Doris Ethel Howard, daughter of Mr and Mrs W. Howard, Patumahoe, and Mr Roy Egan',' eldest son of Mr and Mrs W. Egan, of Matamata.

; The bride, who was given away by her brother, 'Mr George Howard, looked charming in a French model of ivory crepe de chine with an overdress of silver lace and diamante trimmings Her embroidered Brussels net veil was arranged on the head with a wreath of orange blossom's: The bride carried a shower bouquet of dahlias and maiden hair fern.

Miss Muriel Reynolds, niece of the bride, was chief bridesmaid, and' she wore a dainty frock of shell pink georgette with a frilled skirt and narrow silver lace trimmings. The second bridesmaid. Miss Dulcie Egan, sister of the bridegroom, wore a pretty frock- of powder blue georgette with a.frilled skirt and narrow silver lace trimmings. Both wore head dresses of tulle and silver tinsel and carried shower bouquets of dahlias and asters to tone.

The bridegroom was attended by Mr Ivan Howard as best man and Mr Stan. Egan as groomsman, both of Matamata.

After the ceremony 60 guests were entertained at breakfast at the Railto tea rooms, the customary toasts being honoured. After the breakfast the tea-rooms were cleared and dancing continued until the small hours of tlv? morning.

The bride and bridegroom were the recipients of many beautiful wedding presents including several substantial cheques.

BUCHANAN—NEWCOMBE.

CEREMONY AT PUKEKOHE

St. James' Presbyterian Church, Pukekohe, was the scene of a pretty wedding last week. The contracting parties, were Doris, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs P. Newcombe, of Otaua, and Neil, eldest son of Mr and Mrs N. Buchanan, of Orini. The. Rev. T. A. Spiers, of Wafuku, officiated and Miss N. Perkins presided at the organ. Escorted to the church by her father, the bride wore a frock of ivory satin beaute inset with silver lace and finished at the waist with a posy of orange blossoms and streamers of ribbon. She wore an embroidered tulle veil, which was held in place with a coronet of orange blossoms. Sh. 3 carried a shower bouquet of white asters and carnations.

The bride's cousin, Miss Florrie Nowcombe, of Te Awamutu, wore a frock of salmon crepe de chine with a lace yoke finished with a silver posy and a head dress to tone. Her bouquet was of pink carnations and asters. Mr W. Buchanan attended his brother as best man.

Subsequent to the ceremony a reception was held at the Ayrshire tea-
