OBITUARY.
MRS. ANNIE ROGERS. AN EARLY SETTLER. On Saturday one of the Pukoknhe's early settlors in the person of Mrs Annie Rogers, passed away at (tie residence of lior daughter, Mrs W- •'; Orum, I'rinces Street, at I lie ago ol 71 years. The deceased lady, who was I lie second daughter of the late •Mr and Mrs D. Noonan, was horn at Capetown, Sou Hi Africa, and at an car )y age removed to New Zealand. settling in Pukckoho in the 'seventies, along with the "Gape" settlers. The laic Mrs Rogers resided wilh her parents, who were engaged in the Puni district in pioneering work of breaking in the- land. Later she married the late Mr John Rogers, and lived in the some district up till II)e time ol his death in .1911. Deceased was a member of Hie Catholic Church, and rendered yeoman service for lhat institution's welfare. She leaves a i familv of live sons and live daughters, Thev' comprise. Messrs ("J. J.
