ROSLYN METHODISTS CELEBRATE ANNIVERSARY

The seventieth anniversary reunion party of the Linden Methodist Church, now the Roslyn Methodist Sunday School Hall, was hold on Saturday evening at the hall. Five of those present were members of the church during its first decade. A humorous play produced by Mr iB. Muir was effectively staged by a large cast. Old photographs were passed round for inspection, the roll of the decades was called, and greetings were received from ex-members, .local churches of other denominations, and from the president of, the Methodist Conference, the Rev. W. G. Slade, while many reminiscences* were recalled. The celebrations continued on Sunday, when large congregations assembled for both morning and evening worship. The service in the morning was conducted by the Rev. J. S. Willoughby, an ex-minister, who unveiled a tablet dedicated to the memory of G. H. Bridges, who was killed in action in the Solomon Islands in 1643. Iri the evening the preacher was the Rev. C. L. Duoer, the present minister of the church. The Wakari company and pack of Girl Guides and Brownies paraded for this service, at which the choir sang inspiring music.
