FAT STOCK VALUES EASIER AT BURNSIDE
The number of cattle offered at^ the Burnside stock sale this morning was 350 head, with a better-display .of prime sorts than has been offered for some weeks. The sale generally, could be quoted on the average 15s to >£l a head lower than the pripes l Tuling last week. : Cows and heifers were forward only in short numbers, and the prices realised compared favourably with late sales. Prime heavy bullocks made up to £2B 7s fid; prime, £2l fid to £23 2s 6d; medium, £l7 2s. 6d to £lB 2s fid; and light from £l4 7s 6d. Extra, prime heifers brought , up 1o £ig 7s fid: prime, £l4 12s 6d to £l6 17s fid: medium, £ll 12s 6d to £l3 7s 6d ; light from £9 7s 6d. Prime heavy cows went to £l6 7s* fid; ’ prime, £l2 7s fid to £l4 17s 6d: medium, £lO I/s 6d to- £ll 7s,fid; light from £B.2s’fid. The fat sheep yarding totalled 2,350 ' Included were a .number of consignments of extra choice quality, and' these met with a regular sale throughout, with prices about 2s to 2s fid lower for wethers, while ewe* sold equivalent to last week’s rates. Extra prime heavy wethers brought up to 70s; prime heavy, 62s to 60s; prime 52$ to 545; medium, 42s .to 465;, light from 325. Prime heavy enes, 46s 6d ; prime, ,41s to 445; medium. 35s to 375; -light: from:29s,. The offering of fat pigs was a small one. Prices showed an improvement of 4s tc 5s a head, 'Best quality baconers realised up to £8 6s; . prime. £7 7s to £7, 17s; medium, £6 14s to £6 19s; light from £0 .17s. Best porkpfs. £4 17s to £5 2s; light and medium from £3 10s.
