Rumour travels fast and far. Reports were circulating in the city early this afternoon that Earl McCready, idol of wrestling crowds throughout the Dominion, had died in Christchurch this morning following injuries he received last night during his contest there with Otto Kuss.;; McCready (who appeared in Dunedin on Monday night) is injured, but he is still very much alive, That is the information that has been given in answer to inquiries received by the ‘ Star since the rumour began to gather momentum. l / For confirmation or denial of the story a telephone call was made to the ‘ Star’s ’ Christchurch correspondent. Then came the surprise. He said be had already received a similar inquiry from Auckland—which j«st shows how rumour may spread.
