STOP PRESS

BOYS’ HOSE PILLAGED. Thieves removed 24 pairs of boys’ golf hose from a 32ft packing case through a 2in knot hole in the side. The case was consigned by the Mosgiel 'Woollen Company, Dunedin, to a Wellington firm, on the steamer Katui. Securing the knot in the hole were three stout cleats, but these were bent aside and the knot removed by some means. Cardboard cases around the socks had been torn open and the socks removed. Several odd socks were left behind in the bottom of their boxes.—Wellington P.A.
