APPRECIATION OF GIFTS EXPRESSED BY HORNSEY COUNCIL
“ The council proposes to place on record its deep appreciation of the kindness and sympathy of the people of Dunedin, who have given practical demonstration of the ties of affection which bind the dominions to the Mother .Country,” writes the town clerk of the Borough of Hornsev (Mr H. Beadle, 0.8. E.) to Miss M. F. Harris, secretary of the Otago centre of the New Zealand Red Cross Society. The writer was expressing the appreciation- of the mayor and borough council to the society and people of Dunedin for “ the truly magnificent gift of food ” which had been sent to the aged and needy people of the borough. .The gifts were soon to be distributed, and were certain to bring much happiness and pleasure to the recipients. Hornsey is a residential district of North London.
