He was chairman of directors of Davis Gelatine (Australia) Proprietary Ltd., and .'"its" ' associated companies,' the Cockatoo’ Docks and Engineering Company Proprietary Ltd., the -Mount Frome Lime Company Proprietary Ltd. ; and Animal Health Products Proprietary 'Ltd., and a director of the Mercantile Mutual Insurance Company Ltd., arid Alluvial Prospectors Company. He was born at Auckland in 1883, and educated at King’s College, subsequently coming to Australia. The knighthood was conferredJn One of Sir George’s outstanding, .public achievements was the : reorganisation bf Cockatoo Dockyard, in. 'which VickersrArmstrong,' of.
