MAXIMUM GOST OF FENCING AMENDED

(P.A.) 'WELLINGTON, June 26. An order gazetted to-night amends the schedule to the Fencing Act, which sets out the maximum cost of fencing between properties for the purpose of determining the parts of the cost to be paid by adjoining owners. The cost was last fixed in 1923, and the alteration now made is to bring the schedule into line with presentday costs. For instance, the schedule for a wire fence with 9ft between the posts has been increased from £2 to £2 15s per chain, and that for a wire fence with three posts to the chain from £1 10s to £2 7s 6d.
