Bigg) in the dispute between the Transport Committee and the -Tramways .Union is to be considered. The commissioner’s decision, which was published in the ‘ Star ’ yesterday, was in favour of the union. ‘‘The question of appealing to the Arbitration Court is a matter for the Transport Committee and the City .Council to decide,” said Cr McCrae. He added that he did not know when the decision would be made.
“ The jioint on which the commissioner has given a decision is" one which the department never questioned,” Cr 'McCrae added, . “ and we never suggested that we could change a man’s rostered day off. We contended, however, that 'we had a right to change the roster when duo notice had been given.” 1
