N.Z. Horses Backed to Win Large Sums in Queensland Races
The New Zealand sprinter, Da Vinci, was backed for £75,000 in doubles with Chaytor as soon as the handicaps for the Doomben meeting in Queensland were declared. Chaytor, a Sydney-owned horse, is engaged in the Doomben Cup with 8.13. He is a sound stayer, and won the Victory Cup in Brisbane last year. Da Vinci, who had his first race in Australia on Saturday, has also been coupled with St. Fairy to win £75,000. Attley and Chaytor have been backed for nearly £IOO,OOO, and are at the top of the market. Another Dominion candidate, Master Dash, has also been heavily backed for the Doomben £IO,OOO.
