COARSE CROSS-BREDS ELECTED AT LAST CHRISTCHURCH WOOL SALE

(P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, June 23. The official report issued by the Christchurch Woolbrokers’ Association, in conjunction with the New Zealand Woolbuyers’ Association and the New Zealand Wool Disposal Commission, on the fifth and final Christchurch wool sale of the 1946-47 selling season held to-day, states that a fully representative bench of buyers attended the auction, though their numbers were not quite so great as during earlier sales. Competition was fairly well spread, but the bidding was a little irregular. Fleece wools of half-bred quality sold very well, blit little interest/ was shown in medium and inferior cross-breds, which were largely taken by the Joint Organisation. Lambs’ wool was also neglected. The offering was not large, comprising 4,800 halos of greasy and late shorn and straggler wools, with some consignments from the Chatham Islands. ‘ The official range of prices is as follows Extra fine Corriedale and half-bred,
