EDIBLE OIL FROM SOUTH AFRICA | (N.Z.P.A. Special Correspondent.) LONDON, January 7. Large quantities of ground nuts are to be grown in Tanganyika to produce edible oil for margarine. A team will leave Britain at the end of this month to clear the ground for cultivation, and it is hoped that the first crops will be planted before the end of this year." The first harvest is expected by May, 1948, when it is hoped that sufficient oil to produce 108.000 tons of margarine will be yielded.
