CHINA DRIVE ON GOMMUNISTS

> WHOLE PROVINCE THREATENED

(Rec. 10.45 a.m.)

PEIPING, Nov. 4. The 'Government’s offensive against Chefoo has exploded into a full-scale campaign for the entire Shantung province. The Nationalists are squeezing the Communists out of the Liaotung Peninsula, and have also launched a campaign against the Tsingtao-Tsinian railroad. The capture of Pingtu, north of Tsingtao, is reported. ' ' Shantung is one of the Communists* principal strongholds in the north, and the loss of that province would be a severe blow.
