DELIBERATE DESTRUCTION ALLEGED

NATIVE PRISONERS BLAMED

(P.A.) AUCKLAND, Nov. 5. The main part of the Cook Islands Trading Company’s store at Rarotonga ■■ has been destroyed by fire, . according to information received by traders in Auckland. A big percentage of the rationed foods for the island was stored in the building, and the loss has been a hardship to the people. It is alleged that three native prisoners escaped from gaol in Rarotonga, stole a yacht, and sprinkled petrol throughout the store. It is further alleged that the main building was burnt to the ground as a protest against gaol conditions. ;
