Mr E. K. Halstead, of the Bank of New South Wales, Dunedin, has received advice of his. promotion to assistant accountant at the Christchurch branch of the bank. He will leave to take up his new appointment next week. • • . - ■ '
The appointment of the 'ffiev. A. D. Horwell as assistant director of missions was confirmed by the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church ■of New Zealand yesterday. The appoint- ' ment is for a period of five years./ Mr" Horwell served overseas during the recent war. - He woiiked as a student at Kenningtou, Invercargill, and later was a minister on the IRangataiki Plains. He went overseas from St. ( John’s, Greymouth.
