STRANGE "CELEBRATION"

FORMER AUSTRIAN MINISTER ONE DAY'S SOLITARY CONFINEMENT IN GELL LONDON, February 3. For the remainder of his life Dr Felix Neumayer, Minister of Finance in Seyss-Inquart's Austrian Cabinet of 1938, will " celebrate " the anniversary of the Anschluss, March 13, by spending the day in solitary confinement in a darkened cell. This" was one of the conditions attached to the sentence of life imprisonment imposed on him by the Vienna court, says Reuter's Vienna correspondent. Neumayer was charged with high treason for helping to hand Austria over to the Germans. A second condition is that Neumayer for one day in every three months will " l'e hard." All bedding and furniture will be removed from his cell.
