DOMINION'S CORSO UNIT
EARLY ARRIVAL !N MIDDLE EAST (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Feb. 4. News of the arrival in the Middle East from New Zealand of the Corso relief teams is expected by Corso headquarters any day now, and it is hoped that the teams will shortly begin their actual work in Greece. The teams were given receptions and welcomes by Sydney's Greek community recently, and were addressed at some length by Dr Vrizalkis, Royal ConsulGeneral for Greece in Australia, who gave them an outline of the political and economic conditions prevailing in Greece. Dr Vrizakis, in a letter to Mr T. E. Y. Seddon, Consul-General for Greece in New Zealand, said: "I cannot fail to express the gratitude of the Greek people toward their New Zealand allies for their unstinting generosity to us. I am very much impressed by Dr Sylvia Chapman, -who so ably leads the mission.' * Before the departure of the Corso unit, Archbishop Timotheos gave his blessing, and distributed books explaining the liturgy and rites of the Greek Church. Unrra's South-west Pacific area office also welcomed the teams, and the doctors and technicians of the unit spent a day at the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine at Sydney University. The unit was also addressed by Dr W. B. Sutch, deputy director of Unrra's supply and requirements division ; Mr G. Q. Remington, acting 'director for Unrra in the South-west Pacific area; and Mr John ,Gadeny chairman of the New South Wales branch of the Red Cross Society.
