SON OF UNDER-SECRETARY
(Rec. 10 a.in.) LONDON, January 6. Reuter’s Cairo correspondent says the Egyptian police, believe that the arrest of the youth may clear up a series of political crimes, including the murder of British troops and the recent incident in which a bomb was thrown at Nahas Pasha. Police examination of the witnesses showed that only one man was involved in the shooting of Osman Pasha. The assassin, as Osman Pasha wasi entering the Old Victorians’ Club, called out: “Amin, Amin.” When Osman Pasha turned the assnssin fired thrice, then ran away, leaving his victim lying on the ground. Two Egyptian air force officers gave chase, and were joined by a crowd. The assassin ran across a square, from where he dashed into a side street and l fired thrice at his pursuers, then threw a small bomb, escaping in the confusion. Two revolvers were found in the street
It was later disclosed that the youth arrested is a son of Tewfik Ahmed Bey, IJnder-Secretary for Communications in the Egyptian Government.
