DEAD-HEAT IN BIG RACE RECORD TOTE FIGURES The iltangitikei Racing Club’s Summer Meeting was held at Bulls in perfect weather, with a record attendance. The track was very fast. The totalisator handled £43,354 10s (a record), compared with £34,892 last month and £25,415 at the December meeting in 1944. After the Apprentices’ Hack Handicap which Michael won by a head from Golden Acre, a protest was lodged by G. W. Moore, the trainer of Golden Acre, alleging interference on the part of the winner in the last furlong.
