Royal Lancer, and Boolamskee, with Sing Sing last. Sprint to Dearo. - Dearo finished with a great late run to win the Shorts Handicap. Ring Chief was smartest to jump out from Fleet Street, St. Nattar, and Dearo,. with Powys and Lisheen near the rear. There was no change in the order across the top, and at the home turn St. Nattar took charge and was first into the straight from Fleet Street, Ring Chief, Secret Course, Dearo, and Lisheen. Dearo came on to _ beat Fleet Street by a length, with Lisheen a neck away third,; and St. Nattar (fourth), Crinkle, arid Ring Chief close up. Lisheen received a rough passage in the last halfmile, but Dearo was doing his best work at the finish. Green Note ran up to the leaders across the top after being left, but she soon dropped out again, and, along with Powys, was one of the last to finish. Favourites Fajl. The favourites failed badly in the Summer Cup, in which Fuzzy Wuzzy led throughout, and over’the last furlong he did not give the others a chance. Racing through the straight Sailor’s Pal and Fuzzy' Wuzzy were showing out from Sunny Course, Grill, and Eriskav, with Robert last. Sailor’s Pal and Fuzzy Wuzzy led into the ■back three lengths, clear of Sunny Course,‘under a - firm hold, Grill, Te Anau Lady, and Eriskav. Fuzzy Wuzzy was still well clear of Sailor’s Pal, Sunny Course, and Te Anau Lady into the straight. In the run home Fuzzy Wuzzy was always going strongly and was not challenged to Win by three lengths from Sunny Course, who heat Sailor’s Pal by a length and a-lialf. Eriskay was close up fourth ahead of Grill and Te Anau Lady, with Robert six lengths away. Great Coon Consistent. Great Coon capped off some consistent form and stamped himself as a high-class miler when he won the Final Handicap.
