RUSSIANS CAPTURE MORE TOWNS (Rec 11.15 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 17. A Russian communique reports that Japanese troops have started surrendering on some sectors. The Russians to-day took 20,000 enemy officers and men prisoner. Trpops of the First Far-Eastern Command occupied the towns of Foli, Ninguta, and Tumen. Second FarEastern troops, fighting on both banks of the Sungar River, advanced 12 miles west of Kiamusse. Simultaneously south of Blagovechensk our troops occupied Hsinchan. *. Troops of the Transbaikal Command occupied thd towns of Futanchen, Chufen, Kailu, Tungliao, Kaitun, BuEdu, and Chalantun.
