FIRST FURLOUGH PENALTIES ' REMOVED. The Prime Minister announced to-day that the Government had decided, now that .hostilities had ceased, that the Gazette notices under which certain members of the first furlough draft had been dismissed should be cancelled, and that the men concerned would be normally discharged from the forces as from the date of thenoriginal dismissal. These men would now become eligible for rehabilitation and other benefits which up to the present had been denied them. These men would become entitled to take up their pre-service employment, and those who were formerly employed in the Public Service would be granted the leave benefits which had accrued during theiv service overseas.—Press Association.
