COUNCIL OF SPORT
RUGBY UNION AFFILIATION (P.A.) AUCKLAND, August 16. Following a lengthy discussion, the Auckland Rugby Union last night decided to continue membership of the Auckland Provincial Council of Sport, despite the fact that the New Zealand Union had requested it to discontinue affiliation. Mr F.. E Sutherland, president of the Auckland Union and a member of the council of the New Zealand Union, opposed the decision, appealing to members to do nothing which might result in the parent body being forced to take disciplinary action.
The New Zealand Council is to be asked to give reasons why_ affiilation with the Council, of Sport is not desirable.
