QTAGO'S EARLY SUCCESSES HEADS LIST FOR TOURNAKENT SKIELD By scoring decisive wins in both men's and women's hockey and men's basketball, the only events completed this morning, the Otago competitors in the New Zealand University winter tournament are heading the list for shield points. With GJ points scored until noon to-dav, they are a point ahead of both Auckland and Canter-* bury, while Victoria College had 33 points, and Massey Agricultural College | of a point. Men's hockey and harrier races were the only events held this afternoon, while this evening's programme includes men's basketball and fencing. Competitors and student delegates will attend the evening service at Knox Church to-morrow. MEN'S HOCKEY. Third Round.—Auckland 5, Victoria 3; Otago A 7. Massey 1; Canterbury 3, Otago 80. WOMEN'S HOCKEY. Third Round.—Canterbury 7, Victoria 0; Otago B 6, Massey 0; Otago A 5, Auckland 2. MEN'S BASKETBALL. Second Round.—Otago 48, Massey 24; Canterbury 24, Victoria 8.
