WOMEN'S GOLF
DUNEDIN CHAMPIONSHIPS Eight players entered into the first championship rounds of the senior and junior Dunedin golf titles as a result of the second qualifying round in. the annual tournament which was continued yesterday afternoon on the St. Clair course. These players were Mrs Lawless (Otago) 177, Mrs Salisbury (Queen's Park, Invercargill) 178, .Mrs McLean (St. Clair) 185, Mrs Wight (St. Clair) 186, Mrs Gibson (Otago) 18S, Mrs Paul (St. Clair) 188, Mrs Justice (St. Clair) 188, and Mrs McCarthy (St. Clair) 189. ■- ■ . Players who qualified for the senior consolation match were Mrs Joblin (St. Clair). Miss James (St. Clair), Mrs Burrowes (St. Clair), Mrs A. Smith (Queen's Park), Mrs Martin (Gore). Mrs Burn (St. Clair), Mrs Eeid (Gore), and Mrs Grant (Chisholm Park). ■ ■ ■■; •■■■ . ■ The two best gross scores in the qualifying rounds of the senior championship were returned by Mrs H. Lawless (Otago). 177, and the two best net scores were obtained by Mrs A. H. Boyd (Otago) 149. The teams handicap trophy match was won by the St. Clair No. 2 team, with a score of 475. During the day Mrs N. Allan (St. Clair) holed in one at the 6hort fifth (Stop Gap).
