GREATER THAN ASKED FOR

ELAS SURRENDER OF ARMS (Rec. 11.55 a.m.) LONDON, Mar. 5. The quantity of arms surrendered by the Elas under the terms of the agreement with the Government greatly exceeds that fixed as a minimum to constitute disarmament, says the Associated Press Athens correspondent. The figures are taken as evidence that the Elas forces are genuinely behind the Greek leaders and the promise of future peace. The Elas, under the terms of the agreement, were committed to surrender 41,500 rifles. Nearly 49,000 have been collected. Similar increases are registered in other surrendered material.
