♦— — : AUSTRALIAN REGULATIONS UNCONSTITUTIONAL Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright PERTH, February 27, The National Security Regulations forbidding interstate travel except by a Commonwealth permit were declared unconstitutional by a magistrate in the Police Court. Counsel argued that the use of defence power could . not contravene other provisions of the Constitution. The matter will now be considered by the Attorney-General's department, which will have to decide whether the order should be amended or whether the magistrate's decision should be reviewed in a higher court.
