2,000 PLANES IN SINGLE STRIKE

WHAT JAPAN CAN EXPECT

ORec. 11.15 a.m.) WASHINGTON, Nov; 27. The United States navy's carriers will launoh 1,500 to 2,000 planes in single strikes at a not very distant date, said Rear-Admiral John Cassady, Deputy Chief of Naval Operations. He added that just as the Super-Fortresses attacks were only beginning; likewise, the full punch of the carrier aircraft had yet to be felt by the Japanese. Rear-Admiral Cassady said that within two months carrier aircraft" hit and re-hit 200 Japanese airfields and destroyed 2,346 enemy , aircraft. " That does not leave many aircraft available in the Philippines to oppose our occupation. " However, our immediate job is to see that the Japanese do not move replacement aircraft into the Philippines."
