SHARE MARKET. A sale of Woolworths (New Zealand, ord.) at 18$ 2d was reported on 'Changa this morning with a buyer stil! offering the same price. There was a good demand for bank shares at recent- rates. National Insurance were quoted at 24s 9d-255, and New Zealand at 88s-90s. Other quotations both ways were for Wcnporf Coal at 25i sd-265. Mount Lyell at 29s 3d-30s 6d, 'Macduffs (ord.) at 13s-13s 6d, and Gilleapie'B Beach at 3d-<Ud. Buyers for Bruce.Woollen (ord.) al 30s 6d> and Woolworths (Sydney) at 19s' 6d were unsuppliedi E.S. AND A. BANK. The net. profit of the English, Scottish, and, Australian Bank Ltd., which fell Sharply, in the previous year, shows a partial ro'c'overy at £144,355 for the year ended June 30. IV compares with £126,120 for J 941-42 and £213,892 in 194041. Dividend remains at 6 per cent., requiring £120.937 (less United Kingdom tax). After other allocations' totalling £25,000, carry forward is'£l,sß2 lower al £287,868. MINING. Associated Hold Dredges ot New Zealand Ltd.—The return for the week ended oil December 11 was 1590 z from. 82,030 yards in 346 dredging hours. Slab Hut.—The return tor the week ended pii December 11 was 520 z from 19.800 yards in 122 hours.
