APPOINTED TO LONDON

NEW RUSSIAN AMBASSADOR LONDON, July 31. The former Soviet Ambassador iu London, M. Maisky, who has been appointed Soviet Vice-Foreign Commissar, will be succeeded by M. Fyodor Gusev. the Soviet's first Minister to Ottawa. M. Gusev will probably take up the post in a few weeks. The diplomatic correspondent of the ' Daily Herald ' says: " The. Soviet Government is reluctant to withdraw M. Maisky from London, where he has been so outstanding an Ambassador, but it is felt that his great knowledge and wide experience will be even more valuable in Moscow than in London.''
