ENEMY TRAWLERS ENGAGED
LIGHT FORCES' SUCCESSFUL ACTION (British Official Wireless.) (Rec. 10.20 a.m.) RUGBY. April'l6. The Admiralty states: "Last night light coastal forces under Lieut.-com-mander Peter Markham Scott engaged three armed enemy trawlers about 20 miles off the west of Le Havre. The fire was concentrated on the rear ship of the enemy line. Many hits were scored, and although the ship was not seen to sink she was left stopped, silenced, and burning- All our ships returned safely. They suffered casualties—one killed and four wounded.
