Right to Pensions. Sick ov injured Home Guard personnel are entitled to obtain the same hospital facilities as are open to other soldier patients of the armed fortes. They and their dependents also have the right to claim pensions in cases where "disability is due to service in the Home Guard or has been aggravated by such service, in the case of death, the widow may receive either social security or a war pension, and, if she remarries, children under 16 may also receive benefits, in each case as decided by tho War Pensions Board. This information is given'' in a circular from Army Headquarters, which details the procedure to be followed when Home Guardsmen claim that injuries or sickness are attributable to or aggravated by military service. Taieri Battalion. An instructional demonstration to officers and n.c.o.s of the Taieri Battalion will be given this week-end by a squad from Burnham. Representatives from all companies will attend, and great benefit should be derived by all concerned. Latest methods in section leading ami patrol work will be the main features of the demonstration. In view of the above, the parade called for B Company (Mosgiel) to-morrow has been cancelled, except for officers and n.c.o.s. A Company will parade at 0845 hours, and C Company at 1030 hours. A weekend camp is being held by Headquarters Company at Battalion Headquarters. Flagstaff Battalion, Parades for Sunday are as follows: A Company will spend the day on the Pelichet Bay range at target practice, parading at their headquarters at 0900 hours. U and D Companies will assemble at their headquarters at 0830 hours for a full day on the sector. C Company is to be ready to embus at College street at 0830 hours, and to proceed to the grenade range. Members of the company are asked to note the change of time for embussing. Headquarters Company will spend a full day on the sector, parading at the Garrison Hall and Drill Hall at 0900 hours. The usual rations will be provided, and all ranks will carry mess gear. The battalion band, under the conduotorship of Sergeant McLean, provided a very enjoyable programme of music at the Gardeus last Sunday. To-morrow the band will proceed to Balclutha to fulfil an engagement to play at the band rotunda there. Members will assemble at the Drill Hall at 0900 hours. On Anzac Day B and D Companies will attend the local Anzac service in Green Island. The companies will parade at their respective headquarters at 1400 hours. Lines of Communication. A squad from 29th Company, led by Lieut. Kirkwood, carried out reconnaissance during the afternoon of last Saturday for the purpose of perfecting their method of attack against the camp held by the "»30th Company at Tirahunga over the week-end. Considerable experience was gained from this manoeuvre. The next parade of the company will be ' held at Logan Park to-morrow, at 0830 hours, and this will complete the required number of hours.fqr April.. A comprehensive, syllabus lias been prepared, and it is hoped that this will be carried out in the form of a field day. No. 30 Company held a departure from training by holding a bivouac at North Taieri last week-end, ideal picnicweather being encountered. Thanks are expressed from those who enjoyed the camp to the L. of C. staff sergeants, who spared no effort to make the bivouac so successful, to the attendant buglers, who were enthusiastically on call at all times and at all hours; to the orderly officers and n.c.o.s, who were all the time conscientiously seeking orders; and to the Q staff. Owing to the time spent at the camp, there will be no training parades for this month, nor will the n.c.o. class parade until further notice. Arrangements for the resumption of the signals class and for the further issue of greatcoats have not yet been completed.
