Telegraphist James Carter Leckie, posted as missing in to-night's issue of the ' Stpr,’ is a holder of the Distinguished service Medal, awarded early this rear. Captain L. T. Kennedy and his brother, JUegimental Sergeant-major W. J. Kennedv, have returned from the M iddle Fast, and are spending a few days with their parents at -ISO Macaudrew load. . Official word has been received that J. Norman Broad has obtained his conimission ns a sub-lieutenant in the Royal Navy. His brother, George M. Ilroad, who was wounded by a German bomb and spent four months in Liverpool Hospital, is now completing his training for his commission. Lieutenant-colonel C. S. White, V .D., who has returned from duty overseas, has been appointed area commander of the No. 1 (Auckland) area. He win succeed Lieutenant-colonel It. S. Hamwell, M.C., N.Z.S.G.. -who will leave shortly for Wellington for attachment to the quartermaster-general's branch. Liontonant-colouel White went overseas a few months ago after being commandant of the Papakura Mobilisation Camp almost from the date ot ns opening in 1939. He served with the Auckland Regiment during the Great War, and continued with the Territorial Force after his return, . In connection with the Salvation Army’s periodical transfer of officers, Major Liddell, of Dunedin City, is to take charge at Napier, and is being succeeded by Major Albert Bartlett, late of Hamilton. Major Lee of Invercargill, takes charge of Hamilton, and Major Martin Brown, of Napmr, goes to Invercargill. Captam Baethal, of Green Island, will go to Bivcrton. and Captain Mouusey, of Riverton to Green Island. Captain P. Richardson, of Waimate, will take charge at Wniton, and Captain Wellington at Nightcaps Major Knight and Adjutant Bycroft transfer from Nightcaps to Spreydon, and tain Peterson, of Cromwell, goes to Palmerston South, where he will also have the responsibility of Herbert. Envoy Muirhead is transferring from Pahiatua to Cromwell. Latest registrations at the Grand Hotel include Mr Henri Penn (Melbourne), Mr and Mrs J. Clark (Innaru), Miss L. Holmes (Christchurch), Mrs Pat Gresson, Miss and Master Gresson (Invercargill). T , Staving at Wain’s Hotel are Mr E. J Penrose (Auckland), Flight-heutcn-ant and Mrs B. H. Beale. Mrs J E.
