A JAPANESE REVERSE , CHUNGKING, Dee, 29. A Chinese communique states: The Japanese have been driven back to their original positions south-east of Kwcichiii. One enemy detachment was surrounded. Enemy forces were routed at another point nearby, suffering heavy losses. The Chinese linos north-east of Wun-in-hsien are holding firmly, in Hu mm a battle is being fought, in a heavy snowstorm.
