Messages from two New Zealand senior officers, Brigadier J. Hargost, D. 5.0., M.C., and Brigadier R. Miles, D. 5.0., M.C., as prisoners of war, were broadcast last night among a number of others by Vatican City radio. The Middle East Command on December 3 reported that both officers were believed to have been taken prisoner but the report was not subsequently confirmed, and they were posted as missing.
