CHAPLAIN MISSING
REV. R. G. MgDOWALL The liev. Robert George McDowall has been posted as missing while on active service overseas, according to advice received by his. wife, Airs 11. G, McDowall, of Remuera, Auckland. Mr McDowall was born at Ryal Bush, Southland, 43 years ago, and was minister at St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church, Remuera, for about three years before his departure .-overseas as an Army chaplain about a year ago. He is* a.son of Air and Airs AI. AlcDowall, of Invercargill, and was educated at Southland Boys’ . High School, Otago University, and Theological Hall, ■ Knox 1 College, Dunedin. In 1926 he became minister at St.' Clair, and remained there until ho went to St. Luke’s at Remuera. In his younger days the Rev., AlcDowall was a very fine footballer, and was a member of the first fifteen at Southland Boys’ High School. He maintained his interest in the game subsequently. After entering the Presbyterian Church he was closely associated with its jwuth activities.
