WANTED NEW GOON

GREW REFUSE SERVICE (P.A.) WESTPORT, Dec. 29. The crew of a Union Steam Ship Company vessel at present in Westport refused to take the ship to sea because they were dissatisfied with the cooking and wanted the cook replaced. As a result, the ship lias been hold up since Saturday. The local manager of tbe company maintained that there were no grounds -for replacing the cook, and that the men were liable to prosecution for disobeying the lawful commands of the master. The men communicated with the headquarters of the Seamen’s Union and the Cooks and Stewards’ Union in Wellington, and to-night received instructions which resulted in their deciding to put to sea when ordered.
