CONSERVATION OF FUEL.

TO THE EDITOR. .‘.Sir,—lt was with regret that I, as one of the general public attending the splendid effort of the Queen Carnival Committee at Tahuna Park on Saturday, had to see something which to my mind robbed the show of some of its effect. I refer to the running of buses alongside of trams, thereby using much of the fuel that is going to play such a big part in the winning of this war. As one who has a son overseas I refuse to stand by and see this sort of thing going on without making a protest on his behalf. The day may come when we shall be glad to have some of this precious fluid we are wasting to-day.—l am, etc., Plain William. November 4.
