‘ The Kid from Texas,’ with Dennis O’Keefe as a cowboy turned polo star, is the main attraction at the Strand this week. Second in Metro-Goldwyn-Mayor’s series of sports dramas featuring the new leading man discovery, it teams him with Florence Rice in a rapid-fire story starting on a Texas range and leading through the Long Island social set to a Wild West show. O’Keefe plays'a cowboy who takes up polo, learned from the newsreels, invades Long Island, pays court to an heiress amid many comical complications, and winds up captaining polo games between cowboys and wild Indians in a Wild West show. Players include Anthony Allan, Jessie Ralph, and Buddy Ebseu. ‘ Calling All Marines.’ a drama of.espionage, starring Helen Mack. Donald Barry, Robert Kent, and Warren Hymor, produced by Republic Pictures, is the associate feature.
