WORLD WHEAT SITUATION
BECOMING INCREASINGLY GRAVE CANADIAN INDUSTRY PERTURBED Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright i OTTAWA, November 29. (Received November 30, at 1.30 p.m.) Before the Royal Commission which is investigating dominion and provincial ' relations, the Premier of Manitoba, Mr J. Bracken, demanded a definite national policy regarding the increasingly grave world wheat situation. He asked how Canada could continue to find markets for two-thirds of its wheat in face of steadily shrinking world markets? If she had known of this situation 30 years ago she would not have developed half her present wheat acreage. If the present situation were not remedied 250,000 farmers might cease growing wheat and seek the dole. If the world would not take the wheat being grown Canada should seek a planned arrangement with Australia, the Argentine, and the United States for limited production. The alternative was to go or. fighting each other for what market was left.
