FORBURY SCHOOL
SIXTY-FIFTH JUBILEE A meeting of ex-pupils, friends, and supporters was held in the Forbury School on Monday evening to arrange for the celebration of the sixty-fifth anniversary of the school. The chairman of the Ex-Pupils’ Association (Mr R. M. Parker) presided. It was decided to form a jubilee committee. It was recommended that the celebrations commence in the first week in March, 1940.
The committee decided to issue an appeal to all ex-pupils to co-operate with it in order that the jubilee celebrations could be fittingly carried out, success depending entirely on the measure of support accorded.
The election of officers resulted: Chairman, Mr J. Shannon; secretary, Mr R. E. Mercer; treasurer, Mr R. M. Parker ; General Committee—Messrs J. C. Brooks, T. R. Brooks, D. M. Bister, and J. Sleight, Mesdames C. N. Thomson, Wright, J. Baird, and R. Parker, and Miss M. Hobbs; sub-com-mittee, convenors; roll, Mr J. M‘lntyre; informal evening, ball, and banquet, Airs Lanhara; roll call, church service, and sports day, Air 11. Heazlcwood.
