SECRETARIES CONFER

NEW ZEALAND INSTITUTE Tho annual meeting of the New Zealand Division of the Australasian Institute of Secretaries was held this week at Auckland. The divisional president, Mr Nello Porter, presided over an attendance of 50 members. The finances of tho division were reported to be in a satisfactory state, the divisional accumulated fund totalling £670. Membership throughout the Dominion had now reached 300. The entries for the September examinations constituted a record, 56 candidates having presented themselves in 15 centres. The following officers wore elected: — President, Mr H. G. Thomson; vicepresidents, Messrs H. B. Harper and H. E. Strickett; treasurer, Mr D. N. Chambers: council—Messrs G. W. Hutchison, P. H. Bass, S. G. Kirby, D. C. O’Halloran, and A. G. Fogarty; representative on Australasian Council, Mr N. Porter. Mr H. Gilfillan was reelected auditor of the division.
