WINDSOR GROUP “HENCHMEN”
ABDICATION ACT CHALLENGED LONDON, June 16. A formal legal move by the “ Henchmen of Honour ” for the Windsor group to have the Abdication Act declared null and void lias been overruled by Mr Justice ALacNaughtou in the King’s Bench Division. 'Robert Elton, loader of the “ Henchmen,” accompanied by half a dozen followers, appeared before Air Justice MacXanghton yesterday and sought the hearing of a petition declaring the Abdication Act illegal on two grounds. The first was that the Act was signed under duress, and the second that it was obtained from Edward by the Government without first having obtained Parliament’s consent. Air Justice MacNaughtou refused a hearing on the grounds that the petition was not included in the cause list. It is understood that _ the court had! previously refused to include 361 ton’ s application in the list on the grounds that it was frivolous and vexatious. Elton said to-day that he was determined to obtain a hearing. He proposed to enrol sufficient new members to provide an adequate bodyguard to prevent his ejection from court when he again demanded a hearing.
