The Rev. G. V. Gerard, vicar of St, Matthew s Church, Auckland, has been selected bishop of the Diocese of Waiapu in succession to the Right Rev. ,H. W. Williams, whose death occurred suddenly last December. Mr A; H.- T. Brazier has been appointed chief engineer to the Canterbury Aero Club. He was previously in the employ of the club, and before hia first appointment served with the- RoyaJ Air Force in the inspection branch. Mr K. E. Cadness, formerly assistant head of the passenger department of the Union Steam Ship Company at Auckland, has been transferred to the company's: Christchurch office as chief clerk of the overseas passenger department.
